Sarge GTO, that looks like some real serious Pontiac excitement.

I have had "civilians" #@$%! themselves after a run in it. True story. And these are grown men.

You can use Auto-Rx with your 2 new vehicles in a maintenace mode. You will not have to do a cleaning. With this aplication use any oil you choose.

Same plan is fine for vehicles between 5-15k mieage. Please post your results.

I was not worried about starting the maintenace quickly as much as the GroupIV in my oil. I only asked because on the site it mentioned for maintenance AutoRX to use with dino for best results.

No it doesn't say that friend. It says that for the cleaning/rinse phase. You can utilize any oil you wish for the maintenance.

Here is what it says at the very bottom of the application page:

Quote:

For continuous and long-term protection: Add 3 ounces of Auto-Rx®
with each oil change, and continue to use non-synthetic oil for maximum benefit.

If your engine is fine with it, I'd run a basic SM dino with arx in maintenance form. But if you want to run it with Group IV, there should be no ill effects. People have been doing it for a while now. I've actually got a III/IV mix in mine right now with the maintenance dose.

Yeah I can see where your coming from. That is a recommendation for "maximum" cleaning but in no way to be construed as a requirement. Running a maintenance dose of AutoRX with GRP IV synthetics is no problem and I have not seen anything but positive results. The benefits outweigh any "diminished" cleaning effects by running a maintenance dose with a full synthetic ( Grp IV or Grp III) . On the Auto RX website Frank sez and has tested with PP and it works just fine. I'll defer to Frank however it has been my experience and many on this boards experience that the synthetic oil/AutoRX maintenance dose is nothing but a good thing with great results.

Yeah, frank confirmed it was all good. He said it isn't worded quite right. I was just asking to make sure after I saw that statement.

You can use Auto-Rx in cleaning applications with Dino-Group-111- Group 4 Synthetic.

1- Cleaning using Straight Synthetic 2000 miles-Rinse Straight Synthetic -3000 Miles

2-Seal Leak as on www.auto-rx.com

3-HD Oil not reccomended as one of the additives swells seals.

Is #1 correct, or is Group IV not included, or is it

time?

I think he made it quite clear. Grp IV is fine. I think he is saying tht if you use a group IV, you should extend the rinse cycle to a longer interval.

When I treated my '95 Civic about two years ago I also noticed an increase in gas mileage- not much but noticeable. She's now getting another treatment- just put the ARX in today.

I wish there was a foolproof way to remove those foil seals that are on so many bottles these days, including Auto-Rx. I pushed it in with my finger like I normally do with such bottles and it went VOOSH! all over my shirt. Still had enough to treat the engine though...

Another GREAT thing about ARX: even though I got soaked with it I didn't have to worry about nasty toxic chemicals absorbing through my skin and causing me to pick rutabagas with a stepladder sooner than I should.

Crashbox, if you don't have any other way to remove the foil seal on the ARX-bottle, just use a pen to penetrate the foil, and then gently rip it off. By the way, the part of the bottle where the foil sits, should point UP in the air(so you don't have another accident).

The bottle was indeed vertical- but was also quite warm and I think I squoze it too hard whilst puncturing the seal. Next time I'll use a pen or key. Thanks for the tip.
