I have a 96 Volvo 850 Turbo (136k miles) and am considering Auto RX. I understand that the cleaning cycle should be done with a non-synthetic. This car has only seen synthetic and if I'm going to use a non-synthetic I wonder which one to use. Would a non-synthetic like Castrol Syntec be a good choice? If not then what?

I used Havoiline 5w30 in my 740iL BMW for both phases and it did great.

I recommend using a 15w40, high TBN petroleum diesel oil to use with the ARX. You want something with high detergency to assist in suspending and dispersing the contaminents that are cleaned out by the ARX.

I'd also go with 15w40 for the rinse cycle ....

I've been testing Auto RX for the past several years and it is an amazing product. One of the truly unique things I've seen come along in the past 25 years in this field.

I second TS's recommendation for the reasons he stated. A 15w40 will run great in your 5 cylinder, in your climate anyway. Plus these, such as DELO are inexpensive good oils.

Sounds like Delo 400. It's sold at Costco in one gallon jugs. Several owner/operators have told me it's the best price in town.
