AUTO EXTRA 618-10255 CUT OPEN

This filter and Safety Kleen 5w30 DEXOS 1 GEN 3 oil was off a female boss’s 2021 Chevrolet Traverse AWD. Filter and oil was on for 10,xxxx miles. Shame media tore at metal crimp seam. Total garbage. Put a PZ-173 and more Safety Kleen 5w30 oil in and on. The boss’s where I work don’t follow proper OCI’s as this vehicle usually is due for PM (oil change) at 6,500 miles.

This filter isn't something I'd use. It's the one thing that i get worried about wide pleats. It gives more surface area for the flow to push and tear.

I think the “louvers” should and could be made more open.

I’m just glad work stopped buying this filter number. The 57502 I posted pics of other day i should have few ready soon for cut and pist

The construction of that doesn't look to be a long drain filter anyway. It most likely would have been fine with the 6500 miles. Happy to hear your repair garage stopped using them. Better to try a different manufacturer.

Definitely not a 10k mi. filter. As noted, might have 'survived' at a more reasonable 6500 mi or less. Still, poor pleat spacing around seam pleat. Curios, what is the COO of this AE filter? Does appear to be some variant of an M&H Wix type oil filter.

Yeah, thought so. Been seeing some poor looking OF anecdotes with that coo. Mighty and Bosch Premium being two other recent examples I've seen. Guess appropriate to say, 'no bueno'.

I tried having the boss go with ST filters but I never got answer back. I doubt Super Tech has fikter # for the WIX 10332 for new Toyota Camry and rav4
