Not open for further replies.
Some statistics so far...these are not necessarily scientific, so interpret however you like at this point:

1. Population Size: 38
2. Avg $/QT where specified: $4.92
3. Avg OCI Miles where specified: 8,270
4. Avg OCI Months where specified: 9.3
5. Min Miles: 5,000
6. Min Months: 4
7. Max Miles: 14,000
8. Max Months: 12
9. Std Dev Miles: 2,610
10. Std Dev Months: 3.4

I'll continue to update as I get more info. "Why?" you ask. Just because it's fun to look at the numbers, and because I have no life.

1. M1 10w30EP
2. $5/qt
3. Chrysler 2.7
4. 15k w/Full flow change at 7.5k and MG changes every 5k

1. M1 T&SUV
2. $5.25 (That was last year)
3. Dodge 5.2 Magnum
4. 10k (1st run, expect to be on same schedule as above by next year, analysis permitting)

1. Rotella T-syn
2. I forgot, but it was cheaper than the T&SUV
3. Chrysler 440HP
4. Don't know, probably won't for at least a couple years. Will change the MG annually whether it needs it or not.

1. Rotella T-syn
2. See above
3. Plymouth 340
4. See above

1. Rotella T-syn
2. See above
3. Cummins 5.9
4. Don't plan to ever change it. With 6 quarts in the Gulf Coast, I think a full flow and roll of paper towels about once a year ought to do it.

Sorry if my schedules don't help much with the statistics!

UOA after every change? Man, that can get expensive (relatively speaking), but you'll definitely be on top of what's going on in your crank!

REDLINE 5W-40; along with LUBE CONTROL LC-20
2001 DODGE RAM 1500 V8-318, 5,600# and 115,000
Seven to nine thousand, or, twice yearly.

1) GREEN GC 0w30
2) $4-$5/qt.
3) '00 Grand Am GT 3.4L V6 105K Avg. 20k/year
4) 10K (first run; previously ran Mobil1 for ~7K)

1) Pennzoil Platinum 5w30
2) $2.12/qt (60+ quart stockpile from Pep Boys rebate taht Wally World price matched on the spot each time I went there)
3) '05 Mazda3 Hatchback 2.3L I4 18K Avg. 17K/year

Both vehicles are using an oversized PureOne filter. However, due to some start-up noise on the Grand Am, I'll probably go back to WIX on it.

4. 5000 miles for now but will bump it up to 7500 after the warrenty, unless i am doing my current commute of ~1.5 miles for a while, then i will do it every 6 months.

Do you mean you will be switching to PP at next change? If not, what price did/are you paying for M1, and what grade? Thanks...

i used platnum last change and it used very little oil. i wanted to see if the consumption was the same with Mobil 1 or if the car was finally fully broken in. The Mobil 1 was about $22 for a 5 qt. I have no reason to use Mobil 1 from here on out and probably will not touch it for the rest of the life of my car.

RTS 5w-40
14.8x/gallon
2002/1999 Jeep Wranglers 2.5/4.0
