Anyone own one of these? My wife is very much interested in one. I was skeptical until we looked today, but I was pretty impressed with the room, style, and interior. Price is decent too. And the new drivetrain warranty for life (first owner) is pretty attractive, if there's really something to it.

But I wouldn't be taking advantage of all the chances I have for input if I didn't post here. So, does anybody own one of these? What do you think?

Any thoughts on this car would be great. Thanks a lot.

The Pacifica is the perfect example of how Daimler-Benz was so intent on "doing it their way" once they took over Chrysler that they cut off their nose to spite their face.

The existing LH platform (with its longitudinally mounted powertrain) was designed from the start to be FWD, RWD, or AWD. To have designed the Pacifica around this platfrom would have taken a minimum of development time. But no, the Benz people had to come up with a completely new design with a transverse powertrain and rear suspension based on the E-Class Benz. It was stupid, costly and symptomatic of why Chrysler started going down hill from the moment of the takeover.

Does that make the Pacifica a bad vehicle?

Not at all. But it does show why it isn't as good as it could have been.

GMan - Any thoughts on the car actually DC made?

I actually like the Pacifica. I've never driven one but I did go by the dealer and look when they first came out. Fit and finish is first rate. Room is good.

When it's finally time to retire my aged Olds van the Pacifica will be high on the list as a possible replacement.

We pulled the trigger today. They were willing to make a deal. I feel like we got a pretty darned good deal. The car is pretty impressive. That lifetime warranty is hard to beat. Our goal is to have this be a 10-year car for us.

Thanks for the input guys.

Good luck with your purchase. For others still in the market today I saw two Saturn Outlooks on the highway. Nice looking. Same as Buick's model but a lot cheaper. If I drive one I'll pass on my observations but from the exterior they look nice. JMO
