ATF-Z1 Date Code

I was given a few bottles of Acura ATF-Z1 manufactured by IDEMITSU. Before using I'm trying to determine the age to see if it is still good. Code on the bottle is 5I JA0046

Z1 hasn't been out long enough for the fluid to be bad assuming it was kept closed & not exposed to extreme temperatures for long durations.

Thanks benjamming. My friend picked up a case on ebay. I got the leftover so it's storage condition and age is unknown. He is having no issue with the ATF in his Acura. I was trying pin down the age from the batch code.

Your Z-1 was made in September 2005

As long as it is unopened it will be fine.

Shake it up to mix up the additives. Additives with higher specific gravity will settle out over time, but a quick shake will solve that issue.
