ATF for 2003 Altima

I am wondering if Dexron III is the same thing as Nissan D Matic, since owners manual says that either Nissan Matic or Dexron III can be used.
Would AMSoil synthetich ATF be a better choice than Mobil 1 ?
AMSoil claims that it can be used wherever Dexron III/Mercon or ATF+4 are called for, now Mobil 1 makes no such claims but I would still lean towards Mobil 1.
Any thoughts??

Either of the above will work to convert the fluids you have named to the Nissan Fluid

Take your pick between Amsoil and Mobil. Both are good ATF. I have Mobil in my '02 Maxima since 15k miles and I have now 32k with no issues. I feel the transmission shifts better than with the OEM fluid. But I have also heard from people using Amsoil in their Maximas with no issues. It basically comes down to price and availability.

Nissan D Matic and Dexron III are interchangeable, however Nissan is pretty particular about Nissan D Matic being used for warranty reasons.

So, if your car still falls under the factory powertrain warranty, then i would use the D-Matic fluid.

It's pretty good stuff alas a little pricey.

Chevron Dexron III(H) + Lubegard Black

You may have a tough time getting GM's H speced fluid but I did see it being carried by Kragen Auto Stores for $1.67.

The above is an excellent combination!!!!
