Gonna change the ATF+4 on my truck. I bought the filter this weekend and noticed it recommends changing filter every 10,000 miles. Supposed the fluid is good from 30K to 100K depending on driving conditions. Does anyone here actually drop the pan to change the filter every 10k miles?

Nope, if you are dropping the pan and changing the filter you are getting anywhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the old fluid out. I generally wait till the vehicle gets 50K before doing the first pan drop and then every 20K. If you are towing much with your truck then 10K may be a good idea.

Who recommends changing it every 10K? That sounds excessive.

30K is probably more reasonable, but still pretty excessive. Many filters are good for much longer than that.
