I did a 65% fluid and filter change back at 96k on my '96 Saturn SL2 Auto, then another 65% fluid change at 98k following a transmission gasket replacement. I'm currently at 101k, and am planning to replace the transmission filter as a precaution in the event that any debris dropped into the transmission during my gasket replacement. Should I also replace the fluid again? Thanks.

Doesn't the Saturn have a spin-on transmission filter?
I'd think that any debris too small to be caught is not likely to cause any problem. Gotta be teeny and extremely light in order to be held in suspension instead of lying on the bottom of the pan.

But, if you are indeed using low bidder fluid, go ahead and spluge for the few bucks

First, it's assured that he's using lowball fluid. Second, a "splurging" Critic is an oxymoron.
