ATF +4 or Amsoil universal??

I have been debating using either mopar atf+4 or pennzoil atf+4 for my ram or just use amsoil univ. I've used the amsoil in everyother car I've had but since the atf+4 is supposedly synthetic I was thinking I'd just use that. Any advantage to either??

If Amsoil ATF is spec'ed for your vehicle then I would use it. You then do not need to keep several ATFs in your stock. Mopar nor Pennzoil do not warranty their ATF, Amsoil does.

Although Amsoil is a very good product,ATF+4 is a very good fluid and cheap too. I've used it in my Mitsubishi Galant for 120,000 miles now.Can't beat it.

I would ONLY use ATF+4 in a Mopar. Nothing against Amsoil, but the additive package and friction modifiers are very precisely selected to work with the transmission and its transmission controller. ATF+4 is one of the most tightly specified fluids on the market.

In my vehicle, I'd use ATF+4.

Advantages are price and local availability for one.

Disadvantage is having to stock multiple ATFs on the garage shelf.

Choose depending on how long you will be willing to keep either in service. If you can make Amsoil pay in avoided service intervals to the avoided costs (time included), then use it. If you can't ..don't

I run the Amsoil in 46RE and 545RFE. No issues and they run great.
