ATF+4 in Ford/Mazda FNR5?

I'm really thinking about what to do here....I would like to try ATF+4, but am nervous....maybe I will be safe and use Merc V. Seems to be a safer choice at reduced intervals?? Any additional input is appreciated!

im just going by the notice i get at work, since i work for a mazda dealer in a parts dept, but thats just what teh manufacturer states.
