Ask for MMO in gallon sizes at Wally World

I saw two 1 gallon containers of MMO today in Wally World. I felt so lucky. I bought one but was thinking of buying both....I called all the stores one time and could not find any gallon sizes.

Time will tell if that was a good decision. Those who would like to buy that size should request it in the stores. This would get the store in the habit of keeping it on the shelf when we walk in the store. Maybe ask the Manager?????

Just a crazy thought......

What are using the MMO? I have used it a lot int he past to free stuck valves, sticking power steering pressure valves, and in small engines for top cylinder lube etc....I have used it in car's too in the fuel and the oil before I got into UOA and such. I used it mostly as a mild flush for 500-1000 miles prior to an oil change. I can not say I ever noticed much though other then when adding it to small engines for top cylinder lubrication or as a flush for power steering systems. So with all the high quality fuel additives and oil additives like Lube Control and Fuel Power etc.....I am just wondering what you are using it four?

Terry Dyson used to say that it had some nasty stuff in it and did not recommend it at all. Onthe other hand I have seen plenty of Airplanes that have had a bottle added to each tank of fuel for 20+ years with no harm done and plenty of car's with 300,000 miles and a spotlessly clean engine! My observations though are not scientific in this case and no UOA has been posted as far as I know of anyone running MMO.I had my Toyota 4Runner's power steering system refilled with it on a trail after a P/S hose got torn. I fixed it on the trail and all I could find besides oil to refill it was MMO. That MMO was in the power steering pump for over 10 years I think around 12 years. The Power steering pump failed at around the 15 year mark. So I can not say that MMO caused any harm in that case.

So what ever you plan to use the MMO in please do a UOA as no one that I am aware of has ever posted a UOA of their oil after adding 1 quart and driving for the normal OCI etc.....I would love to see one. It would also help us to see if it doesin fact hurt the engine?

I am going to use a quart in my 99 Saturn SL2 in about a week. I was going to do a short OCI, then get a oil sample. If things go well, I will keep extending the OCI and get additional oil samples. That will take a while. Here is one UOA but the sump is much bigger then mine:

Several Walmart stores in So Cal that I visited in the last several years never had any gallon MMO, only quart and 1/2 quarts sizes.

I tried MMO in gas tank of 2 cars, 4 ounces per 20 gallon of gas and the results were dismal. I think the gas mileage went down about 4-5%. Using it in crank case yields better result, it seems to clean the engine and gave better fuel economy.

Maybe where you live. I have been in four stores with no luck before. The one I got it at today was one of them. I have never seen it on the shelf. I also called stores with no luck.
I want to use it in the fuel and the oil. I did use RX in my Dad's van but did not change the filters every 1500miles.

Needless to say some gunk was still in the engine after 2 auto-rx runs.

Thanks for taking the time to find them! I remember reading them a while back, that helps to put some of the doubt to rest about MMO being added to the oil.

If your WalMart does not have gallon sized MMO, I think you can talk to the manager and have it shipped to your store.

Pep Boys had it in gallons IIRC, probably costs a lot more than WM though. I was always able to get it cheaper [buying 4 qts] than gallons when Auto Barn used to run it for $1.99/qt. I bought loads of it, those days are long gone now.
