What is clear is that my compression is up; WAY UP! Increased compression can only mean better power and economy. Can I quantify it? I have only ARX to attribute the significant and stellar improvements to. No other additives were used. No drastic changes in driving style, fuels used, or anthing else.

It was ARX that liberated my engine of it's ills, and it's ARX that deserves all the credit.


I'm about 600 miles away from completing the first rinse cycle of a 2 clean rinse phase application. The 164,000 mile Vulcan Aerostar seems to be running well, oil use is up slightly. I'm anxious to hear about your consumption. At this point I can now say I feel a slight increase in power, but as you say its a moot point. The wife says the Aerostar runs great so I'd consider that a plus

If the wife is happy...everybody is happy! Took the ping and a lifter tick away on my Taurus. Very happy.

I will be using it for life...or as long as combustion engines are around. But there is always the drivetrain.
 
When I look at the Harley Davidon test over at ARX, this is a good example of a motor that did not break in properly. Compression was low and out of spec on both cylinders of the V-Twin. With a cleaning and rinse both cylinders came up to the high end of spec. compression.

My thoughts are that the owner may have babied the unit during break in, or spent too much time in city driving conditions. Between the heat and break in wear metals and poor use of fuel, I'd guess that the rings got fouled up or coked very early on. The only thing that ARX could have done is break down the coke like binders and free up the rings.

As slow and methodical ARX is in acting on deposits in other areas of a motor, it is actually quite fast on ring deposits. I am sure its due to the heat and pressure assist.
 
I think this story is worth the bump. Based on your results is there any reason 2x concentration at half the interval isn't recommended?
 
Lot of history gone under the bridge since 08. Truthfully its not even worth getting into, its been beaten to death.
I hope this doesn't open some cans of worms again as it get tiresome fast.

I don't post here much, and a quick search revealed what I suspect you're talking about so I hope this thread can just go back to sleep.
