I added a whole bottle of ARX to my Honda that takes 4q. In hindsight, that's a lot of ARX. I see now that they dropped the 2oz for the filter dosage, so I'm 50% over-concentrated! How long should I run this? I'm at 1000-1200 miles now and am trying to get this treatment completed asap. I will re-use the ARX mix in a beater car, so that's no problem, not too big a waste. My 2nd question is about the Rinse/Completion Phase. According to the instructions, the Rinse Phase consists of nothing more than *changing* the oil??? How is that a "phase" if it takes 5 minutes without the car even running? The instructions are as confusing as ever. I assume the "Completion Phase" is the driving with the rinse oil? All I really want to know is that the end of it, Clean, change and Rinse? Afterwards synth oil is ok...2000 miles after the ARX is drined and fresh dino oil is added? Oye.

Audi,

I use a full 12 ounces on my wifes Mazda and I ran it the full 1500 miles. I won't get in on a play on words, but when you drop the oil with the Auto-Rx after 1500 miles, add your dino and new filter and drive 2000 miles. Then change oil and FF to your desired synthetic oil.

Don't reuse as the contaminants in the used oil can potentially cause problems in the next unit.

Auto-RX (1) bottle will not cause a problem.

I am wondering if this product needs to be added to oil at the refiner/packager/blender as so many fret themselves to death over using it.

Heres the way I understand the instructions:

1)add fresh oil filter, pour in 1 bottle RX to current oil.
2) drive 1500 miles
3)change oil and filter.

Repeat

procedure after #3 interval if car extremely dirty internally, >100,000 miles, seems like the right thing to do.
Otherwise
Repeat annually or as oil analysis indicates.

I'ved used ARX before but the rewrite of the instructions gets a bit squirlly at the end. Dropping the "Completion Phase" and leaving oil change and driving the rinse oil under "Rinse Phase" would be a lot more clear. Sorry to sound cranky about it, I'm trying to get synth in for winter and want to get rinse phase done asap. I've seen all those threads where users seem out-to-lunch on application method, it's annoying.

Procedure:Clean>Change>Rinse
Mileage: 1500.....2000

How's that?

Thanks for stratightening it out for me.

No reuse...but there are cars that are WAY more sludged than my sweet lil Honda out there.

Yes, I looked to verify when I can go to synth and what the minimum mileage of the rinse phase was. My confusion/suggestion was that the "Rinse Phase" consists of changing the oil and driving, not just changing the oil and then the "Completion Phase" being the driving. Maybe it's just my reading, but it does not seem simplified at all. Clean>Change>Rinse, not Clean>Rinse(which is just the change)>Completion. See what I mean, the "Completion" is superflous.
I've used maybe 10 bottles and understand the application process, I just think it could be written more clearly. Sorry.
