Thank you all so much for your comments, prayers and support.

Right now he's home for two weeks for Christmas, then he's off to Fort Huachuca in Arizona for four months for military intelligence training.

Congrats, GreeC. My son will be home for the holidays from Fort Campbell. Then it's off to Afghanistan. Hopefully, he'll be in some sort of "safe" billet over there, although he's a Cavalry Scout.

I, too, am very proud.

I had that very same feeling of pride, and even awe, when my younger son graduated from the Marine boot camp at Parris Island as a PFC two years ago.
