Are your driving plans changing due to fuel costs?

We do most of our driving in the HAH, so fuel cost is pretty reasonable even as the price of fuel increases.
The Forester is not too awful on fuel and wife usually uses around a tank every three to four weeks, so not much of an expense.
The incremental cost would have been much greater if we were both still working and commuting.
We do drive about 24K less each year between us versus pre-retirement.

Yes, all long trips (anything over 30 mins) are done with the Subaru Forester at 25-30mpg vs the F150 at 15-20mpg.

Yeah I understand that...about 40 days ago it was $3.50 here
About doubled
went from 3.59-3.79 to about 4.95-5.19 here.
so more than GAS but not 50% yet.

Typically diesel vehicles get at least 25% better MPG than gas
so about the same price per mile.

Nope. Gas was this high just a few years ago. I don’t understand why everyone is screaming when it wasn’t long ago we were paying these same prices, at least here in Iowa.
People were screaming back then...you don't remember? You would've thought it was bankrupting every American 2-3 years ago but miraculously now it's no big deal. Sigh...

No changes planned for our Atlanta to Destin FL annual trip in May, and then up to Maine in the fall. the Northstar in our DTS (aka designated highway cruiser) turns in 25 mpg burning 93 Premium 🤙

If it stays this high or goes higher this summer (which it likely will) then I will be driving the Corvette a lot less. It’s 160 miles a day for me when I’m driving back and forth to Niagara Falls so that’s a massive fuel bill for me 😥
