Are your driving plans changing due to fuel costs?

The spring/summer driving season is around the corner.
Gas prices are going up steadily, and show no signs of retreating anytime soon.
Are your summer vacation/cruising/driving plans changing?

No change, Our May St. Louis, MO vacation will happen. I just took in 2 more foster kids (5 total) & they deserve the experience.

No, have to roll with the punches. We have seen this show a few times over the past five+ decades

No. We went on vacation from KS to CA when gas prices were $5-$7 a gallon. It was expensive but in the long run worth it.

No change in our road trip plans either. By far hotels and meals are the most expensive part of any road trip.

Not really. Whenever feasible, I may drive the Accord more, as it gets the best mileage out of the four.

I choose to take less trips, yes. If I can bike or walk I will do that instead. And try to lump trips together. I'm a big fan of not getting a christmas card from the Saudi royal family.

gas is up currently up about 30% here. but its maybe 1/20 the vacation cost.. so
it could double before it was a significant vacation cost.

I'd take the elantra and drive 65-70 and it would reduce the gas consumption by 1/3 vs the outback at 75-80 (speed limit 70 get run over at 80) 26-28mpg vs 40-42mpg.
Maybe pack a couple sandwiches and not eat out on the drive..
that would more than cover the increased gas $$$

Now if it was 10bucks a gallon it might affect plans for a long range trip (600+ miles one way)

No. Gas prices are still well below the all-time high in the summer of 2022. Inflation is much lower, and we've increased our financial security in the last four years. All our plans are still on track.

I haven't and it's not real painful yet but I'll just hustle to make up the difference $$$ wise ... now if I still had my diesel truck it would be sitting...that is painful near $6
