What kind of voodoo witch doctor has gotten you to turn away from M1!! I certainly didn't see that coming! Not like TDT is even close to being a bad oil (I think it's Mobil's flagship personally), but you certainly won't be disappointed with the RL 0w30. Also living in Ontario, I can attest to our unpredictable climactic extremes going on here. Do you plan to UOA trend the oils?

I'm on my 2nd OCI with TDT (3rd OCI with M1) but it will likely be my last until spring. I will get a UOA on it with TBN, as I want to see what kind of life I can expect out of it. I have no use between OCI's with TDT.

I will of course trend the Redline as well. And who knows, if I like it, I may not switch back and just continue to use TDT in the Mustang and Lincoln, both of which don't see winter driving.

Unless I misunderstand, the OP is wondering about SuperTech in comparison to "brand name" oils for the average user in average service. If so, I have not seen convincing evidence the ST is clearly inferior to it's competitors. By "competitors" I mean similar availability and price range.

I think the Average Joe in Walmart looking to do a routine oil change will do just as well with ST as he will with MC, Valvoline, QS..... for his purposes. Keep in mind that the Average Joe is probably not BITOGer pushing the OCI envelope or looking for the absolute best product.

Somebody mentioned that a ST product once didn't meet specs. Are we sure that Mobil, Shell, Chevron has never sold a sub-par batch of product? I bet that happens more often than you might think.
