Are these two oil filters actually the same or equivalent?

Hi,

My new 2022 Ram 2500 6.4L came from the factory with a 4892339AB oil filter. The dealer installed a 4892339BB oil filter. Are these actually the same filter or equivalent? What bugs me is every where I look the web site says the 4892339BB filter “does not fit my truck”. They point me to the 4892339AB filter.

Looks to me like the -BB part number is for a dealer bulk pack of 12 filters of the -AB filters

They appear to be the same just a slightly different label. Same as how ford engines are fitted with fomoco labeled filters then get replaced with motorcraft ones. Same thing at the end of the day.

I can confirm that BB is the bulk pack. We get them by the case, case says 4892339BB on the label and there are 12 4892339AB filters inside. Same goes for 5281090BB and 4884899BC

Thank you all! I did get the BB from the paper work - not looking under the truck. Makes sense.
