Got new sparkplugs today and just need to double check if they are genuine. They came from a reputable shop but first time iv seen denso plugs that have made in china on the box.

That ground electrode sure don't look right where it attaches to the plug body.

I've tried a couple set of IT24s from them in the past, the price was the only thing that stuck out, they idle was substandard with them.

I don’t see anything wrong with what you have pictured. The ground electrode weld is ugly, as mentioned, but its also highly magnified. The plastic protection tube is typical Denso, and the markings appear genuine.

I recently purchased some Denso spark plugs thru reputable source that were made in China. They work fine.

They probably are genuine if they came from a reputable shop that's listed on Denso's site :(

I just ordered 4 of those same IK20TT plugs, and mine were US-made. They say assembled in US with foreign content. They arrived yesterday.

Mine were shipped from Factory Motor parts (ordered from Rock Auto). Strangely, 2 were shipped from NC and 2 from MN, but all 4 were US-made.

Could be the macro zoom making it look more pronounced, too the naked eye it looks smooth but dunno that's why I ask the pros on here

Packaging seems good, and the shop I got them from (partsinmotion) comes up as an authorised denso distributor.

3 plugs are marked JD NH and one plug is marked JD LH. not sure what that means? LH = left hand thread?

I just noticed you're in the UK

Perhaps Denso makes those in China for the Euro market, while the same plugs sold in the US are made in the US.

They do not have left hand threads. There would be a different part number for ones with reverse threads.

According to this page from Denso EU, all four plugs in the same box should have the same codes.

Just got back from eurocarparts, another large UK retailer, asked them to show me one of their plugs and it's also made in china and looks the same as the ones I got from partsinmotion.
Guess the china ones are what's available in Europe now.

Did the multimeter test on these plugs and they all have a resistance between 5 to 6 kohm.

I just bought denso irridium plugs for the cavalier not too far back. The weld looks really rough and not machine welded. I don't remember the tip looking like that either. Apparently they aren't to be used in helicopters, motorized parachutes, gliders or airplanes?

Next thing to ask, should I apply copper grease to the plug threads or not? Since new plugs will be in the aluminium head for a long time wondering what's recommended here
