Are there any filters as good as Amsoil EaO?

EaO filter is the best spin on filter I'ved experience. After 1-2K miles with the TSO the oil was cleaner and clearer than what was in the bottle. Also after 12,000 miles/year the oil was cleaner with the EaO filter than with any other spin on filter I've used. It's the real deal!

IMO, the Mercedes-Benz OEM "fleece" oil filter is on par with the Amsoil EaO. But that is just my opinion. I have no hard data to back that up.

Yeah, those are pretty good at wasting your money on. In reality any filter is fine, even the dreaded orange can of death:)

I will leave more of those on the shelf for you to buy. Won't EVER see a Fram filter on any of my cars. Filtration is very important. I am not looking for the cheapest possible filter. I plan on using only EaO filters. Just curious if anything is any better.

Like you would ever notice any difference. I personaly buy Puralators, but tons of people buying Frams and I don't see any mass disasters. There are plenty of good filters that are cheaper. Even Bob, the founder of this site said that Fram is fine, I'm sure he knows more about filtration than you do. But hey it's your money, if you like to waste it then go ahead.

Just out of curiosity, honestly what is your OCI?

I bet you personally won't notice any difference if you had Fram on your car. Too many people are easily brainwashed into buying the "BEST". If you bought say tires then yeah you can esily notice how they work, but filter. Most people don't go more than 5K on them so what's the point of buying expensive filter every time? The engine will outlast the rest of the car even with "bad" filter.

you couldn't pay me enought to run a......well you know.

I'm not advocating Fram but it seems that a lot of people mindlessly getting knee jerk reaction when they see orange color now. Just like when they see Wal Mart sign. Oh horrors! Yet everyone is shopping there. Perhaps those stupid disemble picture tests has something to do with it.
If Fram was free for me I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Give me some links that show Fram miserably failing filtration tests in comparison with other similiarly priced filters? Just comparison pictures of various disembled filters won't cut it.

Since I could easily get a Proline, Purolator Premium Plus, Honda Filtech A01 or Napa Proselect for less, why would I want to buy a Fram.. for more than what I'm paying for other filters? Nothing against them, I just feel they're overpriced for what they are.

No, not everyone, I haven't been in one in YEARS, yet there is one less than two miles from our house, and we drive by it twice a day, every day.

10K OCI. I change the oil when it hits the 10k's on the odometer. Makes it really easy to remember at what mileage to change to oil.

The major comonent was the extraordinary filtering capabilities of the Amsoil EaO filter vs. "the rest".. For those of us who indeed understand the long term life extension of incredibly clean engine oil, the use of the EaO is of great value.. When I can use an oil filter which provides cleaner used engine oil than the oil coming out of the bottle AND understand the premise that the #1 cause of mechanical wear are dirt/particulates carried in the oil, it is your essential "no brainer".. That coupled with significant engine oil drain interval extension is a win/win..

And then, to each his own.. The information was presented was for someone to make the informed decision of whether to go orange or utilize the highest level of filtration..

I am guessing that given enough time, other filter manufacturers will come out with their versions of the EAO. The specifications may even exceed that of the EAO for a lower price. Until then, EAO all the way!

Not at the moment.

Champion used to make a filter for Delco called the "UltraGuard" which was about the same with a fully synthetic filter media, but sales never took off Delco only makes one number that fits Corvettes now, the UPF44:

I did pick up a few dozen UPF1233 Ultraguards while they were still in pipeline.

I believe the UPF52 is still available as well. Probably because it fits the LT1 motors used the the Corvette, Camaro, etc. and sells well enough.
