Apple Laptop Macbook Air Connection

Hi guys
I wanted to see if you can help me out with my wifes laptop.
She has an apple mac book air,and it is connected to the internet wirelessly through a verizon router in the basement.
Recently, it is asking her to sign in each time she tries to go online. She was never asked before in the past year.

Since I am unfamiliar with apple, I am confused. I turned the router off and on and the problem is still there.

In the menu bar across the top of the screen, toward the right side, there is an icon that looks like a quarter view of four concentric circles. It reminds me of a Victorian era ladies fan. If you click on that icon, a menu will drop showing all of the networks that the computer "sees." Is the highlighted network yours? If not, move the cursor to your network.
