Does anyone wear Clogs or Crocs all year around ? I was at the store earlier and seen several people walking around with clogs on and it's like 30 degrees outside . Are these people Crazy ?
Crocks I HATE them with passion! They are an offense to the eye!
Clogs however, though not that pleasant do have a practical use. I remember as a student in Paris asking the Scandinavians why there were wearing them in the dead of winter and they said that because of the way they are made they compel you to use the toes when walking and this contributes to keeping your feet warm. Never did I test that theory.;)

I just got done wearing crocs outside, no socks, while taking some trash out to the side of the house. It's currently 11 F degrees windchill, and there's 3" of snow on the ground.

That's as far as I'll wear them. Wouldn't wear them in public. Used to think crocs were dumb until I got a knockoff pair for $1. "Ok, I'll try them for $1." Plastic/rubber, so they're easy to clean, waterproof towards the bottom where there aren't holes, and they put a little bounce in your step. Slip on and off in 1.5 seconds.

They're sort of house slippers that are better on concrete and can handle water and dirt. When part of the basement flooded and I had to get to the sump pump, what better shoes to walk on concrete through water than crocs. ok, fishing waders would have been better.

I'll often wear fisherman/hiking type sandals outside (around the house not in public) in the summer for various reasons. Could see wearing them in casual public if it's 100 degrees out.

They feel like regular shoes but breathe better, slip on and off easily enough, though probably the main benefit is they can get full of dirt, mud, get soaked by a puddle or garden hose, yet they and my feet even while still wearing them are easy to hose off, etc. And then they dry faster than regular shoes and are ready to use again.

Definitely a step up from crocs in their ability to handle terrain. I've walked on 3/4" gravel with crocs. Not recommended.

It's easy to get careless with the athletic sandals and have to remember they're not intended for climbing a ladder or using a pushmower.

Years ago, I thought how stupid looking those are. Had a shoe issue on a vacation in Florida and had get something quick. All there was were Crocs. I have had 5 pairs since then. I have high arches and Crocs are so comfortable. I could careless how I look in them, fuction over form is more important, always has been for me. I want to buy the "hole less" crocs for winter taking trash out and here and there. Next year maybe. Ha Ha.

Plus, they are ALL foam and don't transfer the cold to your foot as fast as some shoes do.
