Anyone used Cummins Tools?

Stanley might not have made Craftsman tools from the beginning, but they DID make them for a very long time, up until 1994...

ZMOZ, I was doing some research and it looks like East Cost Tool and Steel went out of Business. I could not find out when or if they are also the same as Eastco. So again I can agree that Stanley and a number of other companys have probably been makeing a variety of tools for them. If Stanley has been makeing them sine 1994 that might explain why their own product line inproved so much. I can remember when Stanleys own brand was junk!! Their sockets were ok but the rachets were junk and their wrenchs could be easily brocken.

I quite working full time as a Tech in 1993 when I went off to college. I have only bought one Craftsman set since then for my Brother inlaw. I have a couple thousand dollars in Craftsman tools alone. That is not counting Snapon,Proto,Klein,Dewidat,Matco,Channel Lok,Vise Grip, plus all the power and air tools.

I am so picky about my tools that I have gone so far as to have a tool supply store order a plier pattern that they have never seen before. My Dad got the origanal in 1979 in West Berlin. They recently broke so we neded another set. We had to order 6 at a time. I can not even remember thename of the company now. I will have to get it off my new one. It is the only company that I have ever seen with this particular offset. I can honestly say that in every occassion that a pair of pliers has been used since 1979 these have been the pliers used!!

It is funny because the origanals were machined from heavy fordgeings and had nice clean fine knureling on the handles and looked as though they had been machined out a billet of solid steel. The new ones were drop forged and had no machinging at all. The knureling looked like huge diamonds. The qualitys of tools has in some cses gone down hill to meet a price point. Luckily it functions the same.

How sure are we that Snapon makes Kobalt line ????? Seems odd that they would depart so much from their regular patterns. Did we see this going on at the Snapon Factory or is this word of mouth?

apparantly, they were made by a part of Snap-On and no longer are.
