I was at a walmart this morning and saw they had a case of atf in couple varietys. Neighbor uses the ST ATF in his old toyota 2wd tacoma truck, changes it out every 40k.

thanks in advance

Assuming you want a Dexron III/Mercon fluid, sure, which I think SuperTech's main ATF is.

I've used it to flush out a power steering rack for ATF+4 before. Also used it to top off a transmission in a Cavalier.

Can't go wrong if you just want cheap ATF. For any newer car or a full pan drop on a good transmission, I'd say consider a better fluid, just because it will be in there for a long time so its worth not going "bargain bin". Most cars calling for the older DexIII/Mercon are likely older themselves anyhow, realistically its probably more then fine on ST for the rest of its life.

Better then never changing it.

I have completely flushed the auto transmission in my 1992 Accord with ST Multi Vehicle ATF. It lists Honda's ATF Z1 spec on the back, along with a bunch of other specs as well.

I have about 5000 miles on the fluid since doing the complete flush. The transmission shifts smoother than it did but, I just attribute that to the new fluid, not necessarily any special properties of the Super Tech.

I also used Castrol Import Multi Vehicle in a 1990 Accord that I had. I put 40,000 miles on that fluid in that car. It seemed to have firmer low speed shifts compared with the ST fluid that I am running now.

I don't think you can go wrong with SuperTech fluids, especially on an older used car. Just like engine oil, the fluids all have to meet similar specs. So buying a pricier name brand ATF just takes more money out of your wallet if you have an old car that just needs a fluid change to keep it going down the road.

Thanks for the reply 90crvtec, and I plan to use the case that I got on rollback at the wal mart here in NC.

I have used Sam's club house brand DextronIII / Mercon ATF in a 95 F150 truck with 296.000 miles and was perfectly fine with no more shudders Ford are known for with their 4R70W tranny before I sold the truck never had any problems with the STOCK TRANNY

Good 'ole truck!

PS: I used 10 OZ of lubegard green bottle too

I use SuperTech DexVI in my parents' G37 power steering system which calls for Nissan PSF-II or Dex VI. I figure since it's a licensed fluid it'll be fine, and at $4/qt I'll siphon & fill the reservoir every oil change.

Have it in my TH400 w/ a bottle of lubegard red and it seems to work just as it should. I used nothing the WM ATF+4 in my Jeep and it was perfect also.

Used the dex VI from ST in my malibu and it works great! Only if they have a T-IV I would use it in my Equinox as well. Good stuff

Their Mercon V was not that much cheaper than Motorcraft, so I used MC when I had my transmission serviced.

But I did use the ST MV for the power steering. Stinks though.

Changed tranny fluid in my '97 Ford pickup over the weekend. Because it has a torque converter drain plug, I was able to add 12 quarts of Mercon V. I just grabbed what I had on the shelf and I think it was about 10 quarts of SuperTech and about 2 quarts of Valvoline. It shifts good.
