Anyone use Salt Away? I purchased some to put in a cheap 1 gallon pump garden sprayer. Spray it on the undercarriage. Does it work? Am I spraying something that may be corrosive to remove salt? What does remove mean if the instructions say don’t rinse Salt Away off?

I feel the most effective method to remove salt from undercarriage is:
Drive during a rain 'after' the salting season.
You're sure to dilute every nook & cranny that had salt.

During Winter, I make several trips to a Car Wash where I hose it down.

Then there is the topic of 'oil' undercoating and using Cosmoline.

So I just sprayed it. Same color, same smell as wet and forget. The stuff I spray on my house to get rid of algae and mold. I swear it’s the same stuff lol.

Interesting. If I sprayed the undercarriage with jus water from a hose, the surface of the rotor would get a quick coat of surface rust. That didn’t happen. Left a white cloudy, but non-rusted coating. Only mixed 2 ounces to 1 gallon.

I use it in the fall before winter and then in the spring when it finally warms up. I also use it once in the middle of summer. Been doing this for years and it seems to work well. I had a 2006 e53 life in Michigan and Wisconsin, 275K miles, little to no rust on the underside. I use a weed sprayer and dilute per instructions.

I rode Jetskis and had a trailer I would back into the ocean. Always used salt away or salt terminator. Not sure if it did anything. I always rinsed everything with it but still found salt residue on stuff and rust would still happen. Maybe helped but not a cure all.
