Anyone use a car bra?

I'm getting ready for a 1500 mile trip and was thinking of putting on a bra to protect the front end from rock chips during the drive. I picked up a Colgan bra, but I couldn't even put the darn thing on. The instructions say to leave it out in the warm for an hour to allow it to strech better, but even then, I just wasn't able to put it on the bumper. And the hood piece did not exactly fit well either. Plus the instructions are very poorly documented. I guess I expected better from a company that's supposedly a leader in car bras. At this point, I am going to return it.

I don't want a clear bra as this is just temporary (for that one trip).

Are there other bras that I should consider?

I have a LeBra and my mom's car has a Covercraft and they both fit. I remember the Covercraft took a little bit of effort to put on for the first time. I don't use them too often anymore. Sand and grit gets caught under the one for my car and pitted some parts and scratched others. Also it left staining from stuff that got caught under it. But I just might put it on when love bugs come back.

I would just wax the bumper really good so that bug removal will be easy.
I've known other people that bought a Colgan bra and had trouble installing it.

whoever owned my mustand before me had a bra on the car and [censored] them for it. at least take it off when you wash the car.

it might look funny, but cover the front bumper with racers tape. its blue and was designed to put over headlights on track to protect them. ive seen people pull up to the track in ferraris and ford GTs with the whole front covered in the stuff.

OT, my new Accord has a lot of rock blast. I'm thinking about getting a CF hood for 3 seasons and putting the stock hood back on for winter anti-skid. Body guy actually likes the idea.

Burn your bra!

Keep the car waxed, and keep your distance from rock-throwing cars in front. Also use Rain-X or similar on windshield to limit damage. Stone damage is a bummer, but really a part of normal wear and tear. Fill in big chips with touch up paint. I've seen strips of plastic protectant for the leading edge of the hood, but I don't see how to prevent a 'tan line' underneath when removed.

I have not used a bra on my car since I was 16 and didn't know any better, Now I only use "boxers"- its a man thing.
