Anyone service an Automatic Tranny with no dip...

Castrol ATF+4 is what I will be using. As I mentioned I'm still undecided if I should do a fill tube exchange, and skip the pan drop since I only have 15K on it, or do a pan drop and fluid exchange.

Why do they call it a seal system when the trans can leak just like others if improperly built or maintenance or unlucky? Since Chrysler trans rank very low, I would want one without a dipstick.

I'm just the opposite, I want the dipstick. I think it was a cost cutting production move, and a shop revenue generating move, to get people to take it to the dealer to check it. That's if they even bother.

I'm not sure where Chrysler transmissions rate, GMC transmissions were very good, Ford pretty good, Chrysler Torque Flight was good in the day, Honda transmissions were pretty low on the scale. I was told the 4 speed automatic transmissions they used in the Aerostars stunk. I have 191,000 hard miles on mine it still works great, but it is very well maintained. I think the luck of the draw plays a big part too.

I say the best transmission Mopar made was the A727 series in the trucks/vans.

But I still think Honda/Mopar/ZF can't build a transmission to save their lives. Aisin-AW and Jatco are the 2 best Japanese transmission OEMs. As for the Americans, Ford and GM are capable of making good transmissions as well.

I like the GM transmissions I just don't like GM. I think Ford transmissions are good. Having sold Hondas I quickly learned their transmissions stink. I hope I don't offend anyone. I got a few death threats from unhappy customers. It was entertaining, and I learned to sell the extended warranties with V6 Accords and Odyssey Mini Vans. In fact their transmissions stunk across the entire line up, but the two mentioned above were the worst. I left them in 03 so maybe they got their act together.

I don't know enough about the newer Chrysler transmissions. My 72 318 Satellite had a transmission that was fantastic. So far the transmission in the Liberty is problem free. I'll report back in another 10 years with an update.

having driven hondas, i have had zero issues with honda transmissions, just drain and fill every 30k to 20k with HONDA Trans Fluid.

I even have a 2000 v6 accord with the infamous lawsuit transmission. no issues.
