We have been mandated to run E10 fuel (ethanol) in our area. I work in a City Fleet and we are worried that maint problems will occur from the effects of the E10. Anyone run into any problems with it yet? New vehicles or older vehicles? May be a little to early to tell around here.

pgun67, If your "City Fleet " includes the maintinance of mowers, pressure washers, etc. you will probably encounter vapor lock problems in the warm climate in which you live. The RVP of E10 causes fits with all of my mowers and 1 cyl. equipment.FWIW --Oldtommy

Had E10 for more than 10 years in the NYC/Metro area (replaced MTBE as a oxygenate) and no problems. One caveat, you want fuel from stations that move product so the fuel is fresh. Usually only a problem in more rural areas.

I think we went E10 statewide in Kentucky around smuumer 2009. My fuel mileage dropped at least 5% since then dispite new plugs, ox sensor and knock sensors as well 93 octane shell or Chevron fuel. This is based on a 30 data point test ran multiple times over my commute route during summer, fall and winter.

In my opinion, lower mileage is a problem with E10 and now the feds are condering E15. Go figure.

It does hurt the gas mileage, and it is noticeable when I buy gas with ethanol, and ethanol free gas. Its hard to judge, I would agree at least 5% gas mileage lost.

Only a couple gas stations are left here that are not e10. Its sad that this crummy gas is creeping into texas.

We have had no issues with the e10 gas, it has been here about 5 years. I use it in everything including lawnmowers.
