The animated "Real Ghostbusters" that started up in '86? Yes, they had good voice casting (Lorenzo Music, best known as Garfield the cat, doing the Bill Murray role), and some very imaginative stories. One featuring the Boogeyman was very creepy for Saturday morning TV.

There was even one story where the Ghostbusters were called out to Hollywood to consult on the movie about them. At the end they attend the preview of the film, complaining that it didn't do 'em justice!

As for cartoons and Saturday morning TV of my kidhood, I recall Capt. Kangaroo, of course. In the days before 24-hour news channels and 90-minute blobs of local and world news at dinnertime, our local TV stations often ran classic Warners and other cartoons from 5 to 6 pm. (Network news: 6 to 6:15; local news from 6:15 to 6:30. Then right into primetime TV!) Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, early Merrie Melodies shorts, you name it.

Of course we also had afternoon reruns of "The Lone Ranger," "Roy Rogers," and the George Reeves "Superman." "Sky King," I think, was primarily Saturday morning fare, along with "Ruff and Reddy" and "Heckle and Jeckle."

Was there ever a TV or animated version of "Oswald Rabbit"? The comic book vanished right after Nov. 22, 1963!

For me, it was Sesame Street, Hercules and Spiderman cartoons, Hammy the Hamsster and Riverbank Friends, Looney tunes....When my sisters came along, it was Inspector Gadget, Polka-Dot Door, Sharon, Lois, and Bram, Today's Special....ah, the memories!!!
