And more importantly, if domestic cars are so great now days, why does every year foreign (most specifically toyota) grow in market share, while domestics (most significantly GM) decline. Are you saying that americans are so dumb they are buying rubbish vehicles made in another country when our own country makes the best that can be bought?
Something tells me its the other way around, americans after years of buying rubbish cars made in this country are finally fed up, and are buying cars that are the best long term solution for their money, regardless of where they're made.
GM, Ford, and Chrysler will continue to lose money until they can put out a quality vehicle, at a reasonable price, thats more reliable than their foreign competition, and they do this long enough to regain consumer trust.
The fact that one S10 has been great to you, unfortunately, will not save the american auto makers, nor should it.
Back to the original poster, Get the Tacoma, get the V6 if gas isnt a huge concern, get the 6 speed, and any options you want, the only thing id really have to think about is the 4x4, only because of where you live, how badly do you need/ want it? In 10 years you'll look out one day on what will still be a wonderful midsize truck, and you'll be happy with your choice.
Thick head? my my , why so hostile isn't that against the guidelines?
I like Tacomas too, but i am another who looked back and can say in the 12 years i've owned the S10 is a great truck.
If you want to blow 25 or 30 grand on a mid size truck based on superstition, do it.
