I eat a can or so of sardines every week, plain from the can on crackers and put 2-3 anchovies on my salad every day. More anchovies if it’s a Caesar salad.
Worcestershire sauce is essentially aged anchovies. Anchovies provide an easy way for adding the fifth taste we all crave -umami. Google it.
Grilled kippers and onions were a typical cruise ship breakfast offering pre-covid. Used to get them a few times each week of a trip. Along with grilled tomatoes and scrambled eggs this made for a hearty and filling breakfast to ready one for a couple of hours in the water snorkeling.
