It's basically an all steel Turkish clone of the CZ 75. I have several CZ's, and I'm happy with all of them. So when I saw this in a E-Mail that Palmetto State Armory sent me the other day, I decided to take a chance.

It's a hell of a price for a forged frame and slide steel handgun. While they're not much of a friend politically, there seem to be a lot of good guns coming out of Turkey lately. I'm seeing a lot of Turkish shotguns showing up at my local gun club lately. And everyone I've talked to are happy with them. I'm currently shooting a CZ 612 Trap gun, and its been flawless.

So I was just wondering if anyone here has a 2000, or a similar model? I've heard CZ magazines will fit and run reliably in these things, and CZ grips will also fit. But I won't know for certain until I get my hands on it. It is scheduled to show up at my FFL this coming Monday. So I'll report back when I get it.

I have an IWI Jericho. It shoots just as well as my CZ75. It's magazines are interchangeable with my CZ mags. If it's a close CZ copy I'm betting the mags will work.

I know that magazines from my CZ-97 will interchange with my IWI Baby Eagle in .45 ACP. So I'm hopeful these will interchange as well.

I have a RIA MAPP MS which is a CZ75 clone. Love it. I think you'll really like the SAR 2000!

I just picked it up late this afternoon. First impressions are good. Forged steel barrel, frame, and slide. It's a heavy pistol at almost 36 ounces. Which I like. This gun is for shooting, not carrying.

Sights are fixed white 3 dot that are very visible. Grips are a very nice thick, soft, "grippy" rubber. Similar to the overmolded stocks Hogue sells. The gun is thick in the grip area, which suits me fine, however someone with small hands might not appreciate it.

The gun ships with 2, 17 round magazines marked Sarsilmaz, along with a slotted cleaning rod, and a bore mop. Slide to frame fit is nice and tight, with minimal slop.

I can't see or find any difference between this gun, and any of my full size CZ's. I won't be taking it to the range until we get some cooler weather here. And I'll be looking forward to lighting this one up!

This is a great gun! I'll take a hammer-fired gun any day. You're going to love it. The Turks build some awesome firearms! I'd would have got this gun had I seen it earlier. Reminds me of my MAPP MS which is a CZ75 clone. You got two mags also! Great purchase. Don't get swayed by all the latest Glock clones. This is the real deal.

Normally I wait until I can shoot and better evaluate a gun before I consider buying another of the same brand. But this time I made an exception.

I was really happy with this SAR 2000 with the way it looks and feels right out of the box. So my confidence is high enough to the point that I ordered another in Stainless Steel.

I just couldn't pass up the price, ($299.99). Just $20.00 more than the black oxide finish. I placed the order and got my E-Mail receipt yesterday morning. (Sunday). I checked this morning and they raised the price to $349.99. So I got in just under the wire.

I should have it by the end of the week.... Then it's off to the range, heat and all. PSA really has good prices on these guns. I checked with Sportsman's Warehouse, and they're selling the same gun for $599.99.

Well, here is number 2 in matte Stainless Steel. I picked it up yesterday from my FFL. I'm very happy with it as well.... At least as happy as I can be without a range session to judge it on. This one exhibits the same craftsmanship as #1 in black.

It has a very nice, smooth matte Stainless Steel finish. The barrel is very highly polished on this model. On the other it is finished in black to better match the rest of the gun.

We're looking at the upper one teens for temperature for the rest of this week. So I'm hoping after the weekend it will drop down enough so I can get both of them out to the range, and make some noise.

That's a great looking hammer-fired gun! Let us know how you liked it!

Well today was the day. Low 80's, with no wind. So I packed up both SAR 2000's and headed to the range. I got set up and started shooting early. (About 10 minutes before sunrise). I brought 400 rounds with me. 200 were purple boxed Federal Champion 115 grain FMJ. And 200 Winchester 9MM NATO.

The NATO rounds were 124 Grain FMJ, and had a bit more snap to them. I believe they are loaded a tad bit hotter so they function reliably in sub guns. I fired them first. 100 in each gun. Both guns digested them without a hiccup. All 3 magazines fed perfectly. 2, 17 round, and 1, 21 round in each gun.

I switched to the Federal 115 gr. Champion, and had the same success again. With both the Stainless and the blued gun. All 4 of the 17 round magazines, as well as the 2, 21 rounders, locked the slide back every time with both guns, firing both types of ammo. I gave both guns a rapid fire mag dump with a 17 round mag before I called it a day. Again, both guns functioned flawlessly.

They both printed point of aim at 25 yards. The white 3 dot sights were very easy to pick up. Even with the morning Sun off to the left. Both guns dropped all the empties about 6 ft. to the right, and about 3 feet behind me. All were close enough to land on a old bath towel I had spread out.

So overall I couldn't have asked for more from either of these 2 guns. Naturally, both were filthy when I got them home, and I just finished cleaning both of them. If anyone is thinking about getting one of these 9MM SAR 2000's, you won't be disappointed. They are good looking, well made guns that run good. And you sure can't beat the price.

I'm going to grab a couple more 21 round mags while they still have them in stock.

That's awesome! I think this gun has been highly under the radar!
