I wasn't a smoker but I liked this stuff - both snus and nicotine pouches. I gave them up a couple of years ago. The Swedish way of processing tobacco is supposed to reduce tobacco specific nitrosamines (TSNs) to a very low level compared to American smokeless products. So, there may be a much lower incidence of cancer, but the pH is still adjusted to result in maximum nicotine absorption. I ended up with red, angry, irritated gums. My periodontist asked me what the heck I was doing. When I told her she just said, "Stop using that stuff." I was using them continuously throughout the day, though. Perhaps using them with breaks might not result in such significant irritation.
