Good Day folks. My friend has a modern projector and a massive fold out projector screen. While at late father’s place we found some old movies labeled in tin cans and some plastic cassette/circular movies but no projector to use them.

We may just toss them all out. Anyone ever have one growing up?

There area a million formats. Are you talking 8mm or super 8 or DV or? Pictures might help.

I remember watching 8mm something or other as a kid - my uncle had them I think?

I have some old family movies on DV - which is digital but its still on tape. There are companies that will convert them to digital for you. I should do so before its too late.

I have a theatre setup in my basement, it's about 15 years old but still 1080p and looks good still. Epson 6500UB and a 110" Carada screen. Axiom audio setup for sound and a Denon receiver.

Sounds like the prevailing answer is no. I do still have a slide projector, (with a bad bulb) but never had a screen for it. Also I used to have one at work, for training videos, but gave that away long ago.

I'm 100 sure that my FIL has at least 3 of those reel to reel projectors in those green samsonite cases.

I’d say these are 8mm movies
