If any of you great folks have oil filters you want to see hacked open, PM me or send them to me. It’s a rainy, 40F day here all day and more rain tomorrow. Hoping to dump 1 quart off road diesel in the Camry to break some stuff loose but rain screwed that plan. Anyways, if ya’ll have oil filters or heavy equipment oil filters, etc and want to see them cut open and posted; PM me. God bless you all

Wow, timely. I was thinking about that today - and I don't have a way to cut them open non-destructively and flinging filings everywhere.

I have a Fram Ultra I have had on the truck since 8/19, 7,200 miles. I normally leave these a long time, but I've been running a heavy dose of Lubegard Biotech in it to (possibly) clean up known/common problems with ring coking and piston drain hole clogging. I have other ultras on the shelf I got cheap and could pull this one off easily tomorrow and mail it Monday after draining and sealing in a bag.

I was working on another car of mine today and actually thought, "I wonder what that looks like inside?"

If you're interested, pm me your address? If not, no worries.

Ha ha, you're a man after my own heart. I do this regularly to "new to me" cars, and did it with 1.5qts of diesel 2x 20 minutes in this engine in July 2019 before the current fill. I've had this truck 10 years so battling the oil design problem in it has been a long campaign.

Hello guys longtime lurker and glad I just joined

Had a filter with 21,725 miles on it and right at 4.5 years 😂I was trying to get one of the youtubers to do a video on a filter a relative had on a crown vic but after no luck and it sitting for an additional 6 month in a zip lock I just pitched it last trash cycle

I did a oil change on said relatives car back in 2015
Used a sharpie to note the mileage and date as well as brand of oil
She is on a fixed income so I did my good deed and payed it forward

Orielly MicroGuard filter
Orielly conventional 5w30

Saw her about 6 months ago and asked if she was doing ok and she asked me to check the oil also said about a year ago I had to add about a quart of oil is that bad 😁
I asked have you not had it changed since the almost five years ago !!!

21,725 miles later it had used a quart in that timespan

Did another oil change for her this time STP blue filter and STP high mileage full synthetic

I let you know in five more years

But I do have a Fram PH8 on the Ranger that has about 13,000 miles on it and about 2 years has been running nothing but castrol GTX 10w30 thru it still on the truck I can get it to you and I'm sure the masses won't believe until they see

Bet the gasket is a little hard and the nitrile is prob getting slightly stiff

"Filter exchange program" ... never heard of that (maybe students, lol). How's that work?
bring in an old oil filter get a new one free limit 2 per person. They have held these events every few months in So. Cal. for the last several years. Normally at AutoZone that is why I use the STP XL filters

I have a few new filters and tons of old draining of course. I can send you a few.

We probably need to send you a little paypal funds too for your service or send a filter or 2 that you can use on your vehicles

I keep on forgetting - I have a few to be dissected. I think I PMed you a while back - is that address correct?
