Anyone get a firestone lifetime alignment?

I bet TX has nice flat roads... right now ours are turning into paved single track. The frost heaves are coming out in force and anything that was a pothole before is now a cavern.

Not in any major city. Houston has pot holes that will hold your entire wheel and tire hostage. We also have hills too called the hill country. Wasn't entirely sure what you were referring to, but we basically have both depending on the area. Texas is a huge state. I've noticed quite a few after this last bit of cold weather on roads that never had any pot holes. It's usually a hole on one side thst one tire hits, then a big crack that goes across the entire lane. That must be a frost heave, because usually it's just a single hole, no spreading

Frost heaves can be just one rock pushing up, but often it is across the whole road. Freeze/thaw cycles cause it all to kick up.

The worst is when they dug up the road and put in a drainage pipe. Inevitably that entire rework section drops 3 inches or whatever.

There's no reason to refuse to do the alignment. I get that if it has a few worn components it may not stay in line, but no way it could be worse off than before.

I would refuse if you needed a ball joint. I might even scrape your inspection sticker off and put a FAIL sticker on. A little idler arm play, NP but ball joint? no way Jay.

A worn component won't hold alignment--and is a safety concern. I wouldn't attempt an alignment either, as the customer is going to be unhappy when the tires wear badly... because the alignment won't hold.

Got lifetime alignment for my truck about 8 years ago. Have had about 15 alignments done since then and never had an issue.

Back in the 70's I was preforming a ball joint play check on an old '63 impala full of poor folk. The joint separated. I lowered, putting the joint back in the socket.

The driver screamed I was trying to rip them off when I said I can't PASS this car, it needed a front right upper ball joint and other failed items.

They back out of the bay and fled down the road. Got about 100 yards and the wheel fell out of the well. Saw them mulling around but they never came back. Got busy and went back to work.

Had this in the past when I had older vehicles and never had any trouble having them do an alignment. A few times they didn't do a great job and I had to go back but they always fixed it without complaint.

They never asked any questions, didn't say anything if I replaced front end components before bringing it back, etc. One time they did try to sell me $600 worth of "required" maintenance (based on the mileage of the vehicle, not actually inspecting, as I'd already done all the stuff they wanted to charge me for myself), so you do have to be alert on that.

Or like lifetime engine warranties. Oh, you didn't come in every 6 months or 7500 miles, so warranty is void.

Apparently according to my sister who sold jewelry for quite a number of years the lifetime jewelry warranty has strict by the book cleaning/and adjustments or no dice.
