Anyone ever heard of this stuff???

I have some vague memory of having heard of this before. It looks like they are trying to get people to buy several bottles and then sell it.

Upon application, System “48-Plus” departs from the oil and “searches” for “hot spots” (which are areas where undesirable contacts are being made through one metal surface touching upon another). System “48-Plus” then lodges itself between these abnormal abutments and acts as a “buffer” to offer extraordinary super-lubrication that cannot be derived from common motor oils!

Wow, another Artificial Intelligent chemical.

What a fascinating write up! Lol! My favorite part was at the end telling me how much money i can make selling it to my friends family and co-workers. Like i'm going to buy a case and set it on my desk or something. My own little side business. I would never put anything using that kind of marketing in anything.

I still remember the DuraLube commercials 20 years ago...pretty much the same [censored] and they used to push that stuff so aggressively that it's annoying even remembering it...LOL

I like how they state that the stuff is warranteed for "...even as long as 10 to 20 years from the date when you first bought your supply!" Well, which is it? 10 years or 20 years?

...and does anyone here think they're even going to still be in business 20 years from now?

While you're waiting for your warranty reimbursement, you can take an aerial tour of town on your flying pig.

"You're a cruel man but fair"

"Abnormal abutments" is the phrase they use to describe metal on metal contact.

The marketing dept must have been working overtime on that one.

I don't plan on buying any... but I wonder what's in the bottle?

The Guarantee is for the price of the product... you get your 15$ back... lol Sorry bout your engine.

"Engine sounds real solid". Awesome. After being on that site I'm not entirely sure I know what the stuff is supposed to do or fix.

Then this:

Quote:
This is a picture of my sons VW Jetta’s oil pan. He hit a raised man hole cover in the streets of NY city and punched a hole in the oil pan and the oil spilled out. He drove a few block and realized what happened and pulled over. We put system 48 plus in the engine when I bought the car for my daughter and it saved the engine from major damage.

You gotta love that. It makes NO connection between the oil loss, engine damage and the product. It may very well be that (assuming the story is even true) that a new engine was installed after the pan damage, and years later (when he "bought the car for (his) daughter) they put the stuff in there. LOL everything on that site is worded like that, making no correlations whatsoever. Deceptive marking at its best!

The guy is pretty slick. He's an Amsoil Dealer, and to some people it might look like Amsoil is associated with that product.

I noticed that right away too. At first I thought it was some kind of co-advertising deal.

Typical junk site though. Lots of non-sequitur claims and numerous grammatical errors. I can practically smell the snake oil just looking at it.
