I had my hand-painted mercedes 240d for sale for like $1500. Some guy from Worcester, MA wanted to look at it. 2.5 hour drive. Ok, whatever. He shows up in a shiny BMW with three other intimidating friends. They take the car 2/10 of a mile up the road and back and declare that it was overheading, that the temp gauge was in the red, though it was back to normal, now.
That's technically impossible, there's no way to inject that much fuel to make that much heat in three minutes. I didn't get into it with them, I was mostly shocked by their statement.
Then they were "on me" about how they made such a long drive. I wished them a pleasant drive home.
I'm not going to let one a-hole detract from selling a car privately when it's time though.
