Helen promoted one a few years back. Doug Hillary flew in from Australia, couple sponsors presented, Molakule spoke and dazzled the crowd, good representation from the Midwest where it was held, and even some eastern seaboard guys came in.

It would be nice to sponsor the forum at a Cars & Coffee or at something like the NYIAS. I know at the NY Auto Show they had the Camaro 5 forum there.

I picture a table set up with hundreds of filters as members swap each other for what they want/need.
Of course there'd be a table FULL of yellow cans that would stay there forever...

That would be great, everyone can bring their favorite CUT OPEN filter for a closer look.
Maybe Blackstone would set up a on-site UOA booth.
For entertainment, a King of the Cage format, Magnatec vs the PP guy.
Would be a great place to see and swap antique oil cans!

I think that would actually be super fun! I like the idea of centering it around a car/trade show. All of us that don't have filter cutting tools could load up suitcases with old filters, and down beers while they're opened one at a time. Oil can peep show.

There was a user years ago named audi_junkie who arranged a meetup on his property in NE PA; he said to bring guns and ammo as there were plenty of places to shoot. I think he also offered royal purple 15W-40 as he had gotten gallons of it for a song. No idea who/how many attended. My best recollection is the weekend offered some horrific weather.

If there is enough real interest, I can secure a place to meet up in the greater Houston area.
Houston's a short haul for me!
