Mine's doing good and working as intended...not suffering from an intermittent ADBV like my first (non-Ecore) SuperTech filter experience.

I'm still somewhat skeptical of their bypass valve design. Looks like you have to carefully select the pliability of the rubber and it's shape to have it act as you desire. And if your experience with the ADBV is any indicator, how are they going to build the bypass valve with the consistency one needs?

Talked with one of my old engineering buddies at Champ friday.

He said Champ has over 2 million miles of field testing on the e-core design.

Oh..and it's on the wifes car.

He's testing something else on his.

I am also uncomfortable with the combination ADBV/bypass structure all being built into on little bit of rubber, which rubber is going to change characteristics as it ages.

Test runs done on carefully made engineering samples also do not always account for whatever variations end up happening in the course of high volume manufacturing.

Does anyone know what brands the Ecore is being sold under in addition to the WalMart SuperTech label?

Champs engineering gets their filters from the
e-core production line to use on their personal cars. Of course they get them for free, as do all Champ employees..One of the perks.

I wonder how these filters will hold up to the extended OCI's many vehicle companies are now recommending, like Honda and GM's OLM vehicles. Or are they intended for the "every 3,000 mi/3 month" OCI group?

Filter guy, do you know why they've chosen to include an ADBV on applications that don't need them?(3980) Is the ADBV tuned to bypass at a much higher pressure then the engine mounted bypass or is it simply a 3600 with different threads?

Sorry it should read:

That speaks volumes. Tell him to let us know when he gets through about 30 of them and then report back with the results

I used a Valucraft Ecore from Auto Zone.

Engine ran very smooth, no lifter noise. I would use it again without reservation.
