Just like my topic asks. Do any of you know a good alignment shop here in the Easton area? I was considering Midas on WM Penn HWY. And their is a new Firestone shop here too. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ryan

I don't live in your area, but I have gone to Midas for an alignment before, and they did a good job. In my area, they had a partnership with discount tire co. and would give you like $10 off if you came in and mentioned them. Belle Tire also did a good job aligning my Focus earlier this year. I was able to talk them down $5, FWIW.

Thanks,I probably will just go to Midas. I dont like the way the outer edges of my front tires are wearing.

You should plan a trip to Cabellas in Hamburg or Roadside America
in Shartlesville and make an appointment with Manbecks Alignment in Schuylkill Haven. They are the best, absolutely trust worthy and will do a good job. Or better yet tour the Yuengling brewery in Pottsville!

Manbecks huh? I`ll check that out. Thanks.

If you don't mind driving a bit out of your way (more like a lot out of your way) check out Tire Barn on route 130. http://shoptirebarn.com/

They've been doing alignments for years, anytime I need an alignment or anyone else needs one I always recommend tire barn. They do an awesome job.

I had an alignment done on my RX300 a few weeks ago, but I had it done at Firestone because I had a coupon. I wanted to get it aligned because I got new tires and it was wearing on the outside (the old tires that is). After the alignment, the car still pulls straight (it always did), but the steering wheel is not perfectly center. It's close, but worse than before. I didn't go back and complain because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and have them cause more damage if I made them re-do it.

Yeah, seems like the good place`s are too far from me. I had it aligned at Lexus when I got the tires, but I dont think they did it quite right.

My dealer told me they now use a level on the steering wheel to ensure that it's flat, to prevent any comebacks.

I like to go to a good independent shop. They are less likely to push you to get additional work done. True not all independent shops have the machine.

Also on some vehicles there is not an adjustment for the camber (if I am remembering correctly) but the dealer could order a kit to adjust it which contained various thickness washers. This was on an old Ford Ranger.

The Michelin MXV4 S8 V speed rating. (the tires that were also factory on it) I`m at around 33psi. calls for 30psi, but that seems a little soft to me.

So the wear is even (outside) on both sides? Out of alignment symptoms are usually one side, unless an alignment was performed out of spec, which could happen. Outside wear indicates sidewall roll. PSI is fine. Put on any aftermarket struts recently? when was the last time you rotated?

Check the balance. Monitor tire pressure for a slow leak. Could be as simple as that.

I doubt an out of balance condition would cause feathered wear. He probably has too much toe out.
