Diluted bleach spray removes stains and disinfects. I spray my white plastic cutting boards down several times a week. Just spray it down and let it sit in the sink. Come back later and viola, clean cutting boards.

Lay it flat in empty sink.
Get the cutting board wet.
Splash of bleach, and a few drops of Dawn.
Scrub with green scotchbrite pad.
Wait ten minutes.
Scrub with green scotchbrite pad again.
Rinse with hot water.
Repeat if necessary

A bit of bleach and a soak will do the job. Give it a good scrub before letting it sit. I cleaned many lengths of these when I worked at a butcher back in the day.

Mine have never had a stain after running them through the dishwasher. It also has the advantage of sanitizing them (our dishwasher has a sanitize feature).

Would Soft Scrub (with bleach) work?

The gritty paste does a pretty good job removing the nasty stains. I used it on a refrigerator that my parents friend gave us. Looks new.

Bleach is already in your laundry room and cheap. Bleach is the BEST cleaning compound there is. No need to overthink this.

Citrus will easily outclean bleach....mainly bc it cuts grease unlike clorox. Just my experience.

Bleach will kill the germs and bacteria, mostly what you should want to accomplish after cutting up a raw piece of meat. I never cut meat on my wooden cutting board, only veggies.

When I was studying up on Ebola, the doctors suits get sprayed down with bleach. They dip their gloved hands in bleach. They spray their booties with bleach. Never saw them use citrus. Bunch of fools for picking bleach over citrus I tell ya.
