Last time I checked, Stabil themselves recommended a 2X does for an additional year. I have done exactly that and the fuel ran perfectly without any ill effects.Stabil will not keep fuel good for two years

What leaks am I checking for? I used an extractor to remove the oil, extractor tube went through the oil dipstick. The oil filter is top mounted on the engine. Not sure what would have changed prior to extraction of the oil and exchange of the oil filter that would be leaking. This thread has went down the rabbit hole quickly. If I were the OP I’d start engine and check for leaks as rooflessVW said. Then forget about it. Not that complex
We always check for leaks at my work. Ya just never know especially if high Mike vehicle. What leaks am I checking for? Yeah the oil might be GON in Mike vehiclesWe always check for leaks at my work. Ya just never know especially if high Mike vehicle.

What kind of leak? I didn't pull the oil pan drain plug, and the filter is top mounted.
Exactly rightThe oil filter could be defective and be leaking.
Cars need to be driven on a regular basis and not doing so will eventually cause other issues.
Any reason to run an engine after a oil change?
and also to make sure treated fuel made it to the injectors.
I am assuming he was talking about a fuel stabilizer of some sort. What did you treat the fuel to?
Running it for only 10 minutes isn't going to get the oil hot enough to burn off cold start-up combustion blow-by water and fuel.I would start it and let it run for 10 minutes to coat the system with new oil, just in case the old oil was acidic, and also to make sure treated fuel made it to the injectors.

Originally you said "start it and let it run 10 min", not drive it 20 miles. Driving it 20 miles would be better than just running it in the garage for 10 minutes. But driving it 20 miles in 10 min, he'd have to average 120 MPH. Guess that would warm it up OK.If I was trying to meet GON's goals, start it, check for leaks, 20 miles highway, add more Sta-bil, fill up, disconnect the battery, night night kiss.

Thanks. The filter is a top canister style filter. I am at the vehicle tonight and will start the car tomorrow, as I unexpectedly purchased tires and discount tire will install the tires tomorrow.Check for leaks. If he used an extractor, the leak of interest would be at the oil filter. Make sure the oil filter fills and primes (even if you prefilled it partly) while the engine is nice and warm and slippery to prevent a cold dry start? I would never let a vehicle sit for 24 months without driving in a few times a year. Definitely add some fuel stabilizer!
