Any options for brake rotor corrosion reduction?

Easiest thing I found is not to spend money on "quality" rotors
I purchased a set of Raybestos advanced technology rotors.$36.00 each. They started to pulsate in 4 months,so I check the warranty. Does not cover "thickness variation" in english pulsation. Threw them out and purchased $11.00 specials. Perfect after 6 months now. If they start to pulsate, in the trash and new ones put on. For 11.00 each, I can replace them yearly if needed. No big deal if the hats and vanes get rusty, they get replaced.

I'd get a coated rotor. I have some and they retard rust extremely well. Before Powerslot became associated with Stoptech/Centric, I used to recommend them but I'm sure you can find something similar.
 
Painting the internal vanes may ultimately INCREASE heat dissipation!
At first, because black paint gives off heat - this is why all radiators are black.
But what kind of airflow and heat dissipation can we expect from rusty vanes? Better to have them in good shape for the long run.
I think this is our best shot, but don't go crazy with more is better.
And forget painting rusted vane surfaces - this is only for new stuff that has been cleaned.
 
I do like the raybestos drums, however they are stamped CHINA right on the casting.

I have been using Monroe shoes and pads with OK results.

The cheapo raybestos rotors warp right away. Anything out of their service grade of parts you need to be careful with.

I'm going to try a set of delco rotors for our pontiac sunfire next time, everything else has warped and pulsed.
 
Before I had my last brake job done, I bought a can of high temperature clear coat and put about 3 or 4 coats of it on each of my rotors, in the fins and on the hats. That was a few months ago and there is no sign of rust at all on them. With my previous rotors, they showed signs of rust within the first few hours after they were put on! I was so ticked off because they claimed to be coated with something to prevent rust!

I will presume you meant: "DECREASE heat dissipation"

But that Hi-Temp clear coat option shown above looks enticing - what brand and did you go multi-coat in/on the vanes as well?

I can't recall offhand what brand it was, but I do remember it was good to 1500 degrees, so it is perfect for use on brakes. And I did spray it quite liberally inside the vanes as well, as that always looks nasty when it starts to rust.

No, I meant increase. For the reasons given.

BTW, I have used Rustoleum spray and it works better than it should. I can understand it relatively low temperature drums, but it seems OK on rotors. I am not hard on brakes, though.
