Any opinions on using Edison-base mini-breakers?

Right now I'm seeing issues with a refrigerator motor, but I'm thinking of getting a mini-breaker to replace the time-delay fuses currently being used. I know a real breaker would be better (not an option for the time being), but any opinion on using these things?

Good friend of mine had quite a few of them in his barn to replace the screw in fuses. After they trip so many times they get weak and trip a lot easier.
