When I had to replace my heater core in my '96 Vic, I found there was a TSB from Ford about electroysis and about reground a wire near/at the heater core. (Fall 2003)

I bought a Napa Premium Brass heater core and some NAPA KOOL. A cooling system additive that fights electolysis and cavitation. I poured in half a bottle after flushing the system.

Has anyone else used it?

YOu should still consider adding a grounding strap onto your heater core and connect it to the chassis so as to properly equalise the "electromotive potentials" between the 2.

While adding additives helps, eventually you'll have the same problem over again because of the "electromotive potential" difference between your heater core and your chassis (ground) shall always be there.
