Any New Info on Synchromesh vs. Friction Modified version?

I need to add some more friction to my MTF to help my Suby 5 spd synchros. I use to use Redline MT-90 ... but it's harder to get then GM Synchromesh. When I bought some today, the only one they had was the Friction Modified version: 12377916. Friction Modified typically means it's slippery then usual. This seems to be the opposite of what I want.

The back of the container states that it's "highly friction modified to reduce transmission component wear."

So ... does this still help synchros but still manages to reduce wear? Seems contradictory. It also states that it's semi-synthetic. Synthetics are typically slipperier then conventional oils ... again ... making it harder for the synchros to work.

The GM dealer claimed this was the only Synchromesh that they sold. :-(

Napa told me they couldn't get any MTF other than the Amsoil and Napa 80W90 they had on the shelf.

Go to anybody's auto parts store, and pick up some Pennzoil Synchromesh. It is a dino fluid, and works very well for shifting, for a couple of years. Good protection, too. About $6.00/qt.
Specialty Formulations has superb fluids in any viscosity you may need. Friction modified FOR shifting, and some of the best protection you can get for gears and bearings [they are synthetic,BTW ]. You have to order online, but it's worth it.

Synchromesh is too thin if you need 75W90. Why not just order the MT90 from myoilshop they ship fast.
