Hello, installed a derale remote trans cooler and the replacement filter listed by derale is a 13092. The picture of the filter on the site has the numbers PH253 printed on it. after some research I have gathered that the filter Ph253 is Manufactured by Champ, and is a cross for a AC PF-13 or a fram ph-43. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? The derale filter sells for 17.00 but if they are indeed a direct cross for a AC PF-13 I can pick them up for about 4.00 at wally! Thanks for any help, Mike

Yeah ..pick up a SuperTech or MC Ford/Chrysler filter for $3-$4 ..or go as expensive as you please. If you go expensive, just leave it on long enough to make it pay for itself.

Are there actually any difference between a regular oil filter and a supposedly spin on transmission filter for this adapter?

I guess what I'm asking is there a different design for the transmission filter? Compared to a regular old filter?

The Baldwin high performance microglass media FL1A equivalent, the B2-HPG, makes a GREAT ATF filter, I got mine from Zoro. The Ultra XG8A would be a good choice too.

A hydraulic filter is what I'd be using. Donaldson P551327 or Fleetguard HF6351 would do a much better job than any automotive oil filter.
