i guess i just got annoyed at how you worded the reply. the whole "The last shreds of privacy have been ripped from our collective bodies, and we are EXPOSED!
" was overly dramatic. its just some cool pictures of public streets.

Hyperbole misunderstood.

Hyperbole= exaggeration in an effort to emphasize something, such as a feeling, or to cause a reaction.

PS: I am dead-serious about Google Maps and Google Earth being excellent tools for criminals.

In Alabama they are working on using Google Earth Pro to spot improvements to personal property (swimming pools, etc.) and reflect the change on your property tax bill. So even if you don't report it, you'll still get to pay.

He's probably waiting for a cop to approach and ask him what he's doing ..so he can just drive off without a word. Sorta like what MOVE did in their second compound. They had one member on the roof with a rifle. The Phila police assembled a massive number of cops with rifles and whatnot ...until they figured out that no crime was being committed

They've been doing that here for a while. Want to install a solar energy system? They'll find out, and tax you for your efforts to conserve.

I'm waiting for a "Lake Merced is a nice body of water" wisecrack.
(They fish floaters out on a fairly regular basis)

They tax sunlight?

If you spend $30,000 on panels, all of a sudden your home's value is raised by $30,000, and you get to pay an extra $300 a year in property tax.

Some municipalities have made it more fair, and tax energy farming installations at a lower rate, eg. each megawatt cpacity of wind power is taxed as if it's $40,000, or about $400 a year. But that totally ignores the utilization factor, so it's not worth it to put up wind turbines if you live in a low wind area.
